Generally in life I try to give people benefit of the doubt. I truly believe that MOST people in life are doing the best they can and try to cut them some slack. Well yesterday we had a reminder that all is not so in the world. We get our furniture from MANY different sources, and occasionally this includes auctions. A local auction had this little number up for bid:
My hubby really liked her pretty mid-century lines so he put a (high IMO) absentee bid on it. Later we found out we had won the dresser! They said it was for our max bid, but when my hubby asked to see the auctioneers slip, they suddenly couldn't find the original. He insisted on waiting until they found it, and lo and behold when it was found we had won it . . . for Much, Much less than our full bid.
Not happy customers.
Just a warning for all of you in the furniture world--do your own shopping and don't be afraid to speak up.
Still, here she is now. I love her straight lines and swirly handles. Painted in Louis Blue by ASCP and White on the Handles. A layer of light distressing over all.
