You didn't see these at Grand Opening!!

Thanks for the awesome grand opening! I've been working all weekend to fill the store up with new goodies. Come see these adorable shabby chic pieces. I guess I was in a farm mood with all the chicken wire work I had going on!   We'll have new pieces every week so stop on by any time. And remember, you can always send me a note--call, text, or email if you can't make it during my shop hours. I'm happy to meet you.

Off-white Hutch
Fun Chicken Wire detailing, new antiqued pulls, painted in a sweet cream white, distressed, and rubbed with dark stain antiqueing. Yum, Yum!

Fun Off-white Cabinet
Just call this the jack-of-all trades cabinet! This would make a great TV stand, Entry piece, crafting station, laundry basket hider. . . You name it.  The top lifts off the tower and the chicken wire doors open to a sliding shelf.  Painted a sweet cream white, distressed, new black pulls and fun chicken wire details added.

Grand Prize Winner!! Kayce Matthey!

Congratulations to my Grand Prize Winner of a custom piece of upcycled furniture! Kayce will get to choose from various different pieces to have upcycled any which way she wants!

The Name Basket
I did in fact take a short video of myself drawing the name.  But that particular short film will be archived along with other videos that should not see the light of day . . . you know the file that has the Christmas morning no makeup pics, and the "let's document our baby's labor" pics . . .  It was just a little toooo nerdy and I'm waaaay to haggard right now to be making videos . . .
So I'll just say congratulations to Kayce!
Thanks for being a fan, follower, and friend!!

Just a snippet . . .

Today it was so fun to set up a little shoppette in the front yard during my neighborhood garage sale day.  I'm soooo excited to get the store open. But there is so much work to do until then.  Less than 2 weeks to go!  But I'm exhausted from 4 hours of sleep, so this is gonna be short and sweet!

Block Party!

My addiction to Oops paint is starting to take over my store--and I'm not even open yet!!
My neighborhood association is sponsoring a huge garage sale tomorrow and I'll be out front with a display of some of my lastest stuff!
Stop by and say hi if you're in the neighborhood.

Ok, so the pics are totally random.  ;)

Finals week . . . and the race is on!

So this week is finals week for my DH so I have to actually be the SAHM I am. ;)
Of course that doesn't mean I can go a day without a project!!

"Mom" days mean no paint days, because, well if you haven't figured it out already, paint and 4 kids under 5 are NOT a good combination. So today I broke out my new Cricut and worked on my store open/close sign.  I would have loved to have free hand painted this, but I don't free hand paint ANYTHING!  Legible handwriting and me--not so much.

So here's my $5 sign!
I used the ends of a flip up table that the previous tenant had left in the yard at the store I'm opening in 18 days.  The table was beyond repair, but the wood was awesome!
The vinyl was $5 after my coupon at Joann's.

A light sand, a bit of a wipe down, and some vinyl letterings. And DONE.
Quick, simple projects. My favorite kind.

vintage Office Chair

So, we'll take a break from painted furniture for a moment to discuss a very important topic . . .

The art of finding a great pick . . .
i.e. a piece of something that used to be someone else's.  they decided it's junk and you decided it's fabulous!

Ever find an awesome pick that just strikes a cord,
but you're just not sure which cord?

 The $5 Mid-century Office Chair

Is is fabulous or fabulously awful?!

I THINK I love this chair, but then again maybe I don't.

What do you think? Have you ever found a piece that just spoke to you, but you couldn't figure out how?
At least this little ditty lets me
spin in circles while I think about it. ;p
